SOCIAL WORK SERVICES FOR

Motor Vehicle Accident Survivors

Being involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) can be a traumatic and overwhelming experience. The physical, emotional, and financial effects can be long-lasting and impact multiple aspects of a person's life. Clients may experience a range of symptoms, such as physical injuries, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and difficulty returning to work or daily activities. The legal process can also be confusing and stressful, with clients having to navigate the insurance system and prepare for Insurer's Examinations.

Invicta Works offers a variety of services to support survivors of motor vehicle accidents, including:

  • Practical assistance, such as preparing documents, organizing files and submitting receipts for reimbursement, and supporting clients in accessing basic needs.

  • Advocacy, such as challenging denials, preparing clients for insurer's examinations, conducting medical file reviews, and providing documentation to support clients' claims.

  • Counselling, including psychotherapy, coping strategies, solution exploration, and crisis intervention to reduce crisis calls to legal.

  • Education on legal information, such as rights and responsibilities, tort and AB processes, litigation fatigue, and building a case, as well as mental health information on diagnosis and treatment.

  • Coordination of services and benefits, including making referrals, coordinating appointments, and collaborating with other providers to communicate clients' needs.

  • MVA Support Group, a virtual group using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and an ecosystemic approach to support survivors in navigating the insurance system and coping with the effects of their accident.
